Question:

I have several different USB sticks, but not all work on the 190 Series III ScopeMeter. What is the right one?

Answer:

With the introduction of the new 190 Series III ScopeMeters, also the USB support has changed as well. This impacts the use of your old and new USB memory sticks you might have.

Old situation:

In the 190 ScopeMeter and 190 Series II ScopeMeters we supported (and still support) USB memory sticks with the following criteria:

  • 2 or 4 GB in size maximum
  • Formatting in FAT16
  • Larger USB sticks or other formats will not work

New situation:

In the new 190 ScopeMeter Series III we improved the useable USB memory stick sizes up to 32 GB.
To accomodate this change the formatting of the USB memory stick now needs to be in the current FAT32 file system.
This also means that the USB stick you might have used in your older ScopeMeter range will not work in the new Series III by default.

The required criteria are the following:

  • 4 to 32 GB in size maximum
  • Formatting in FAT32 !
  • Smaller or larger sticks or other formats will not work
