Question: My DMM or Clamp has a temperature function. Which thermocouples will fit ?

Thermocouples have a different connector to those on my DMM or Clamp

Answer: DMM's and Clamp's with a temperature function are supplied with a non-standard thermocouple

DMM’s and Clamps measure temperature using “K-type” thermocouples.

The standard connector on a thermocouple is a polarised pair of flat blades (one narrow and one wider).

DMM’s and Clamp’s do not have this type of I/P terminal. Instruments with a temperature function are supplied with a non-standard K-type “wire bead” probe 80BK-A

To use a normal K-type probe requires the input adaptor 80AK-A

With this adaptor its possible to use any of the K-type probes on this page…
