On July 21, 2020 Fluke Calibration released a MET/CAL version 10.1.0 hot fix to resolve an issue that caused an exception when writing results to the database when a procedure required a new Unit record to be created in the database.  The instructions below will describe how to download the hot fix, make it available to your MET/CAL runtime users and explain how to apply the hot fix.

Downloading the hot fix

To download the hot fix you need to be logged into the FlukeCal.com website.  This can either be as a MET/SUPPORT GOLD registered user or a regular registered user without MET/SUPPORT GOLD.

  1. Once logged in, you will hover over "Service and Support" --> "My MET/SUPPORT" --> and click on "Software"

  4. This will download the file to your local computer, once the download is complete you can log out and close the FlukeCal.com website.

Making the hot fix available to MET/CAL users

Next you will want to make the necessary files available to all MET/CAL users by creating a folder and placing the files inside it.

  1. Navigate to the "Installers" share on the computer hosting the MET/TEAM website, typically \\{MET/TEAM server name here}\metteam\Installers\METCAL\Patches\
  2. Inside the Patches folder create a folder for this hot fix, named "2020-07-21_METCAL_10.1.0-hotfix"

  3. Extract the files from the downloaded zip file into this new directory

  4. Now the files needed to patch MET/CAL 10.1.0 runtime installations are available to all users.

Applying the hot fix

Finally, each workstation that has the MET/CAL runtime installed will need the hot fix applied by performing these steps:

  1. Make sure MET/CAL runtime is not open.
  2. Using file explorer, navigate to the hot fix files typically located on the MET/TEAM server in this location:  \\{MET/TEAM server name here}\metteam\Installers\METCAL\Patches\2020-07-21_METCAL_10.1.0-hotfix\
  3. Copy the Metcal.Common.dll, MetConnect.Storage.dll, and Metteam.Storage.dll files.
  4. Navigate to the workstation folder for the MET/CAL Runtime application, typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Fluke\METCAL and paste the 3 files copied in step 3, choosing to replace the existing files.
  5. Open the MET/TEAM runtime and verify there are no issues and that it opens correctly.

NOTE: Updating these files does not change the MET/CAL version. It will still appear as version 10.1.0.51 on the About dialog.

That is the entire process, contact SoftwareSupport@FlukeCal.com if you have any questions or concerns.
