If some COMPASS for Pressure (or Flow) files are too big they might slow down operation. Note that this information does not apply to COMPASS for molbox software.

Check these files and rename them if they are more than 5 MB or so?

File 1
C:\dhi\common\MacStat.log
Rename to the following, where YYYYMMDD is the current date
C:\dhi\common\MacStat YYYYMMDD.log

File 2
C:\dhi\COMPASS for Pressure\CompData.mdb
Rename to the following, where YYYYMMDD is the current date
C:\dhi\COMPASS for Pressure\CompData YYYYMMDD.mdb

File 3
C:\dhi\COMPASS for Pressure\CompStat.log
Rename to the following, where YYYYMMDD is the current date
C:\dhi\COMPASS for Pressure\CompStat YYYYMMDD.log

File 4
How big is the active setup database? It's typically at this location and this file name
C:\dhi\COMPASS for Pressure\CompSetP.mdb

If it's too big, you can first try to clean it by opening the maintenance tool at this menu path; [Database], <COMPASS Database Maintenance Tool>, then clicking on the broom icon "Clean up fragmented items in the database"

If the file is still quite large you can send it to Pressure or Flow technical support and we might be able to further clean it.

See this article for information on what each of these files is for, how to backup the files, how to put the files on a network drive, or how to move COMPASS from one computer to another, Move COMPASS for Pressure to a new computer, or backup files
