This installation consists of two sections: The first one is about the database installation which must be done first, and the second one is about the LogWare III installation.

 

Section 1:

Installation of Database “PostgreSQL” latest version. 

Click on the link below to find and download the LATEST VERSION of PostgreSQL:

Steps 1 through 8 show an example in how to download database version 13.2, and you need to follow the same process to install the LATEST VERSION of PostgreSQL.

 

1- After you identify the LATEST VERSION click on download.

Version:                 PostgreSQL 13.2

Operating System:  Windows x86-64

2- Click “Yes” in the below screen:

3- Click Next in the following screens:

4- Make sure that all boxes have check marks, and then click next in the following screens.

5- Use the password: FlukePGSQLDatabase9! and then click Next

6- By default, the port number is usually 5432, but if for any reason another port number is showing in the below screen please keep the new one.

7- Select Next in the following screens:

8- After “Completing the PostgreSQL Setup Wizard” uncheck the stack builder option and click “Finish”.

Section 2

LogWare III Version 3.1 Installation

9- Insert the CD that contains the software in your computer and select 9936A. Proceed to install the “LogWare III software” by clicking on “Setup.exe”. Or you can download the latest version by clicking on the link below “LogWare III v3.1 Working Demo” then run the “Setup.exe”.

 10- Select Next in the following screens:

11- Select “Stand-Alone” for a single user configuration. Or select “Client/Server” for a multiuser configuration where one computer is required to act as the Server, and one or more computers are required to act as the clients.

Select Stand-Alone in the below screen, OR you can select Client/Server then go to step#18

Section 2.1

Stand-Alone Installation:

 12- Select Expert installation then click on NEXT.

13- Enter the Serial Number that is located on the CD’s envelop or leave it blank if you are installing the Demo Version. The serial number is a combination of 18 letters and numbers.

14- By default, the port on the screen below should be 5432, and it should match the one from step# 6. If they don’t match, type the same port number from step# 6 on the screen below. The password for the database is: FlukePGSQLDatabase9!

15- Click OK.

 16- Click on “Install”

17- Click “Finish”

After finishing the Stand-Alone installation please go to Step# 31.

Section 2.2

Client-Server Installation

18- Select Expert Installation, then click on NEXT.

19- Enter the serial number, then click NEXT.

20- If you don’t have a dedicated server in your Network, and a regular computer is acting as the server you are limited to 10 client computers. Click YES.

21- Click NEXT in the following screen.

22- The folder “LW3Shared” must be shared with the other Fluke LogWare III client computers. It is recommended to keep the default name shown below. Click NEXT.

23- By default, the port number on the screen below should be 5432, and it should match the one from step# 6. If they don’t match, type the same port number from step# 6 on the screen below. The password for the database is: FlukePGSQLDatabase9! Then click NEXT.

24- Click OK

27- Click YES to print the To Do list.

 28- Click “Finish” and the computer will restart.

 29- Go to each of the client computers, and in the search bar type “Run” and then select the R App. In the open field of the Run App enter:

SERVER NAME: Go to the server computer and identify the server’s name

Share Name: Is the name of the file from step# 22. Default share name is: LW3Shared

Finally click OK to install the client.

30- Now go to the following folder in the Server Computer:

C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\Database version being used\data\pg_hba.conf (right click and edit with notepad)

Go to the bottom of this file and add the following lines for each client computer. For the example below we are using 2 client computers.

host logware3 postgres (IP address client computer1)/16 md5 

host logware3 postgres (IP address client computer2)/16 md5 

After this is done save the file, and the bottom section of the file should look like the screenshot below, and highlighted with yellow are the lines we added for each client computer:

31- Your desktop should have now an icon that says “LogWare III Client”. Please double click on it to launch LogWare III.

a) The following message will show.

b) Insert the CD that contains the license and then apply it.

c) Click OK.

d) The default password is LogWare.
