laminar molbloc introduced in 1991. Enhanced models with serial number 6000 and higher introduced in 2009 with molbox1+ have "named cals" and support premium class calibrations. Older molblocs with SN greater than 470 can be upgraded to "named cal" version and would have a serial number ending with +.

sonic molbloc introduced in 2002. Enhanced models with serial number 4000 and higher introduced in 2009 with molbox1+ have "named cals" and support premium class calibrations. Older molblocs can be upgraded to "named cal" version and would have a serial number ending with +.

molbox1 introduced in 1991 does not support multiple "named cals" in a gas. If a molbox1 with SN greater than 300, and with current firmware, is used with a "named cal" molbloc,  the molbox1 will show the name of the cal but only only the default cal in a gas can be viewed and used. If the molbox1 does not have current firmware it will show "no bloc" when a "named cal" molbloc is connected to it. molbox1 terminals can be traded in towards a molbox1+ terminal.

molbox RFM introduced in 1998 does not support multiple "named cals" in a gas. If used with a "named cal" molbloc the RFM will show the name of the cal but only the default cal in a gas can be viewed and used. And the RFM must have current firmware or will show "no bloc".

molbox1+ introduced in 2009 fully supports "named cals" and all historical molbloc elements.

"Named cals" is short for named calibrations. A molbloc with "named cals" can have more than one calibration in each gas, and a molbox1+ can be used to select each cal, in each gas.

If a "named cal" molbloc is used with a molbox1 or RFM, only the default cal in a gas can be used. The default cal in a gas can be changed (details below).

molblocs without "named cals" can only have one cal per gas and this is the default cal. Additional cals can be done but are on a CD and molTools or molLoad software might be used to change the default cal on the molbloc.
