This article will show you how to convert a series of existing procedures into PXE files as a bulk operation. If you only want to convert a single procedure, please go to the How to Create a PXE File from an Existing Procedure knowledge base article.  Please note that this is for MET/CAL being used with MET/BASE or MET/TEAM versions prior to 2.2 only.

1) Open MET/CAL Editor.

2) Select File -> New -> Project from Existing Procedure

3) Check the "Exclude Hidden Procedures" checkbox.

4) Click on the "Instrument" column to sort by instrument name.  Verify that there are no sub procedures in the list that are not hidden. If there are, highlight all in the list and click the "hide" button.

5) If you have had to hide procedures, just click the "find" button again.

6) If you want to convert your entire catalog of procedures, press Ctrl+A to select all procedures, and then click Select. If you want to only convert a subset of procedures, click on individual rows while holding the Ctrl button to highlight multiple rows of your choosing, and then click Select once you have finished.

7) In the Browse For Folder window, select the directory that you want to hold all of the projects that will be created.

8) When you see the below message, click Yes, which will copy all auxiliary files directly into the project location. The system will create all projects, however all projects may not build into PXE files successfully.  If you have any projects that will not create PXE files, open the project from Editor and work through the error messages.  Contact softwarewaresupport@flukecal.com for trouble-shooting assistance.

9) Click Yes on the next screen to create the PXE files.

10) Select the directory where you want your PXE files to be stored.  Please note, this must be an empty directory.  If you repeat this process at any time, just change the name of the PXE directory.

11) Once you have built all of your pxe files, you can move them (using normal windows tools like copy and paste or drag and drop) to put them in the most convenient location for your technicians.
