Title:      Switching the 1594A or 1595A to source a continuous DC current

Created:  20 Feb 2013

Last Revised:

Applies To:  1594A, 1595A, and various other readouts

Problem Description:  The unit alternates the current and I need to have one direction current.

Resolution/Work Around:

The 1594A/1595A can only measure resistance using bidirectional current. It does not allow resistance measurement using unidirectional current. That is generally true with our other thermometer readouts too. Resistance measurement errors would be very large if the current was unidirectional, because of thermoelectric EMF and offsets errors in the in the sensor, wires, and measurement circuit.
