Caltool for Analog software is only used with molbox1 or molbox1 terminals that have the MFC option installed or used with an MFC-CB control box. The software will guide you through the process to calibrate the voltage and current parameters used when testing MFMs/MFCs. This calibration would normally be done by Fluke when you send in your device(s) for calibration, so this software is typically only used for troubleshooting or by customers who calibrate their molbox terminals themselves.

If you have one of these products, locate the calibration cable that was shipped with the product and obtain a proper DMM for the calibration. For example, a Fluke 8846A DMM.

Install the CalTool for Analog software

  1. Use this link to install the original v1.00 software CalTool for Analog free utility software
  2. The software must manually be updated to v1.01
  3.  The install created a shortcut on your desktop linked to the v1.00 .exe file.  Delete this shortcut. mceclip1.png
  4. In C:\Program Files (x86)\CalTool for Analog delete "CLTANALG.EXE" and copy in "CalTool for Analog.exe" from this link CalTool for Analog v1.01
  5. Create a new shortcut on your desktop for the CalTool for Analog.exe file.                                                                                                                                          mceclip4.png

Run CalTool for Analog software to perform the calibration

The following instructions are from the Fluke web page. Also see the Help menu in the software.

    1. Select the [Setup] menu choice.
    2. Specify the remote interface to the product (molbox1 or MFC CB) and for the DMM.
    3. Enter the desired voltage and current test points. The default values are recommended.
    4. Press [Accept] when ready.
    5. Press the [Begin Test] button at the bottom of the main display.
    6. Several prompts will follow to determine the type of calibration to perform (voltage, current or both).
    7. Connect the product to the DMM as requested by CalTool and follow the program prompts.
    8. CalTool will acquire data from the product and the DMM and determine new calibration coefficients.
    9. Options are provided to write this information to the product and to generate a basic calibration report.

If you receive an "ActiveX can't create object" error message, download the "COMPIO.EXE" file and double click on it to register it. This should resolve the issue.

See note below in red regarding one of the instruction screens being wrong.

Below are a couple screenshots that show the software.
