COMPASS for molbox includes a sample setup for MFC-CB channel 1. Verify, modify or make a new setup with the below information.

Use this menu path to get to the Hardware Configuration window; [Setup], <Hardware> then click on the "DMM" tab.

Then double-click on the device that you want to view or edit. Or click the blank, white piece of paper to make a new device.

With some Fluke Calibration, DHI or DH Instruments devices an example device might show "No command setup" at the bottom right of the window instead of the commands. In that instance double-click the device to open its setup window, verify or change the remote interface settings and press the [Communications Test] button to check if it communicates fine without having to enter the commands.

This window shows that the molbox1 setup does not have commands because they are included and hidden.

Edit the information on this window as appropriate. Especially the Interface information.

Make sure "(V) Voltage" is chosen as Output Units. The setup for current is after the voltage setup. Click the [Initialization Commands] button. The window should look like this. Edit as necessary. Click [OK] when done. If you are using a MFC Switchbox note that the =1 sets the MFC Switchbox to channel 1. Change as necessary.

Click on the [Read Commands] button. The window should look like this. Click [OK] when done.

Click the [Communications Test] button. The window should look like this. Note that it sends a VSENSE command instead of VIN1. This is OK for the communications test. Click the red X to close this window when done.

Click the [Save] button to save changes.

The settings on the "Power Supply" tab are similar.

COMPASS for molbox will automatically replace the [x] with the setpoint defined in the test or entered with the keyboard.

Click on the [Communications Test] button. A window will open requesting a setpoint from you. Enter a value between 0 and 5 volts and click [OK]

The window should look like this. Click the red X to close this window when done.

Click the [Save] button to save changes.

Back to the "DMM" tab. Choose "(A) Current" as Output Units and go through the same steps. Screen-shots are shown below. First for the "DMM" tab.

The communications test only tests voltage, even if current is selected. If you want to test it you will have to run it with [Run], <Run DUT> or other run test selection.

Then the "Power Supply" tab.

The communications test only tests voltage, even if current is selected. If you want to test it you will have to run it with [Run], <Run DUT> or other run test selection.

If you want to setup channel 2 of the MFC-CB copy the channel 1 device by pressing the copy device icon  and edit the various windows as necessary.

For the "DMM" tab these are the commands,
Voltage Initialization: MFCCH2=1, V
Voltage Read: VIN2
Current Initialization: MFCCH2=1, mA
Current Read: CIN2

For the "Power Supply" tab these are the commands,
Voltage Initialization: MFCCH2=1, V
Voltage Read: VOUT2=(x)
Current Initialization: MFCCH2=1, mA
Current Read: COUT2=(x)

When you have the MFC-CB and your molbox setup as devices you must specify to use them. Use this menu path, [Setup], System> to open the System Config window and select like this. Press the [OK] button when done to save the settings.

Run a test to see if everything works. Refer to the MFC-CB and MFC Switchbox manuals for more information, and also the online Help file for COMPASS for molbox at this menu path, [Help], <Show Help>.
