Question: 

Why doesn't my Fluke 88V read 120V when I turn the meter on and select AC volts?

         Unlike our other multimeters, the 88V doesn't default to the Autorange mode when you select AC or DC volts. This model defaults to the 6V range. To measure higher voltage you can select the range you want, or hold the RANGE button down for 1 second to switch to enter Autorange.
