What level of Picocoulombs (pC) can be measured by the Fluke-ii910.

Picocoulombs (pC) is a measurement of electrical charge. For partial discharge (PD) activity it relates to the amount of energy discharged across the void. In general, it’s the voids and defects in high voltage systems which allow PD to occur. When PD is occurring, it’s happening thousands of times a minute.

Since we detect and view the sound, we don’t measure pC. The pulse count we have on ii910 is a rough measure of how often those discharges are occurring. Fluke has not seen data or discussion about a minimum discharge amount (PD) we detect. We will keep our eyes open to it though. It makes sense to know how small of PD you can detect but just like leaks that ability to detect depends so much on other factors like distance, type, etc so we do not specify.
