PowerLog 4.0.2 Blocked From Installing

PowerLog version 4.0.2 is being blocked by an admin and is not allowed to install.

On the 1735 Software and Firmware page, we provide a link to a download of PowerLog v4.0.2. This older version of the software is used for 1735 units with firmware older than v1.10.

Some modern computers block PowerLog v4.0.2 from installing. For example, the following screenshot appeared when trying to run the exe file, and no option was present to allow it to continue anyway. This particular installer seems suspicious to Windows and will not run.

Solution: Run the installer exe as an admin through Command Prompt

The solution found is to run the Command Prompt in your PC as an admin, and launch the executable through that. Before you begin, it is advised to make sure the PowerLog exe file is somewhere you know how to find, like the Desktop or Downloads folder.

1) Pull up the Command Prompt in the start menu, right-click on it and select "Run as administrator". If you are not an admin yourself, you will need to get the log-in credentials of the PC's admin account.

2) Use the cd command to change the directory. In this example, the file was located on the desktop. You can easily find the file path for a given folder by right-clicking its name in the File Explorer and selecting "Copy Address". So for me, I typed into Command Prompt cd C:\Users\u638112\OneDrive - Fortive\Desktop then pressed [Enter].

3) Now that our directory is looking in the right place, we simply type the name of the file to run. So in Command Prompt I typed PowerLog-Setup_V4.0.21.exe then pressed [Enter].

4) The installer should now start up as expected and you can install PowerLog v4.0.2
