Import data from a Fluke FEV150/350 into TruTest

How to import data from a Fluke FEV150 or FEV350 into TruTest

This guide will cover importing data from a Fluke FEV150 or FEV350 into the TruTest software, then exporting a report using that data.

After logging into TruTest, you will first need to select a Client. In the following example, a generic example company from the Sample Database option is used.

When a client is created or selected, you will find 4 options in the main screen: PAT, INST, Solar, and EVSE. For the FEV150/350, you’d select EVSE and click activate, then open.

Before we can import data, a site and a project must be created. New Site can be found in the center and top right, and the same locations will include New Project once a site has been selected and created. In this particular example, the information in these categories is left blank.

Once a project has been created, two buttons will appear in the top right: Get Measurements… and Export Report.

Power on the FEV150/350 and navigate to the bottom of the Main Menu, where you will find an option called TruTest Software. Press F1 to select this option.

The device is now ready to be paired over Bluetooth to a nearby PC. Note, your computer MUST have Bluetooth connectivity to communicate with the FEV150/350.

Once the FEV150/350 is on this screen, it is ready to pair. Select the Get Measurements… option from TruTest, select Download from FEV, and the following window will appear. It may take a few minutes for the meter to appear under Available Devices.

Once it appears, you can select the device and click Continue. The Project data you wish to download will appear. You can only select one project download at a time, so if your project involves multiple data sets you will need to repeat the Get Measurements… step multiple times.

Stations can be filled out with information in the System Info, Visual Inspection, Test Results, and Remarks categories. Image files uploaded into the Visual Inspection section must be in .png or .bmp file formats to show up in the report.

Once you have gathered together all the data you wish to use, you may want to export a report that summarizes everything. The Export Report button will give you the options for Detailed Report and Blank Report.

A detailed report will include the test details uploaded from the FEV, including or a blank report will create a report with just the Project Name and Location details filled out.

You may save this report in a number of ways, for example a PDF, Word document, PowerPoint, and others.
