KB - Comark Pressure Meter Technical Support

Introduction

Comark pressure meters combine high accuracy with speed of response and offer the option of ATEX certified Intrinsically Safe models. The C9500 instruments have twin inputs for gauge or differential pressures and positive or negative (vacuum) pressure measurement. Typical applications for standard pressure meters include boiler flue draft, air conditioning filters, laboratories and clean rooms, process pressures, service and maintenance and the calibration of other instruments. ATEX approved pressure transmitters should be used in hazardous zones with flammable gases present such as petrochemical refineries and natural gas distribution pipelines.

Items to check before returning for Service

Before returning your C9500 Pressure Meter for Service make sure that the battery has been checked and is in good condition. When replacing the battery be careful not to over tighten the battery screws as this can lead to the case cracking.

Note – ATEX versions of the C9500 Pressure Meter must be fitted with non-Alkaline Zinc-Carbon Battery only. All other models can use Alkaline if you wish.

Once confirmed that the battery is fresh the follow the following checklist items.

Troubleshooting

The most common issue with the C9500 Pressure Meter is over-pressuring of the Sensor itself, which will result in the LCD showing “- – – -”. In this instance the only recourse is to return your Pressure Meter for repair / replacement to an Authorized Reseller / Distributor.

Use of Water in non waterproof models can lead to erratic readings on the LCD and corrosion of the sensor. If you believe your Pressure Meter has been used with Water but is actually a Dry Use only model then allow it to thoroughly dry out before using again as this might resolve the issue. If not then return for sensor replacement is again advised.

If you know that your application includes water or other liquids you may want to consider a waterproof model.

Note that the ATEX models are Dry Use only.

Calibration

It is possible to perform Calibration on the C9500 Pressure Meters to make adjustment for errors in the readings. However, this should only be carried out by trained engineers and knowledgeable persons with expertise in Pressure Calibration. All Calibrations are undertaken at the users own risk. To download the Calibration Manual please Click Here. Note that the quality of the manual is poor.

Warranty

Before returning any Logger to Comark for repair or replacement under warranty please ensure that you include the necessary proof of purchase.
