Hosting MET/TEAM or MET/CONNECT in the Cloud

Both MET/TEAM and MET/CONNECT are web-technology based and therefore are able to be hosted in a variety of configurations. This includes the possibility to host them in a cloud-based architecture. However, it is important to understand the requirements of such a configuration to ensure the software will operate successfully.

First, only instances of Microsoft SQL Server are officially supported. This means that other offerings of SQL databases like Azure SQL are not supported. Confirm the supported versions of Microsoft SQL Server in the installation guide for your software.

Second, only supported Windows Operating Systems (again, as defined in the installation guide for your version of the software) can be used to host the websites via Microsoft IIS.

Additionally, any access permissions like opening port numbers used by the software or allowing traffic for MET/CAL instances to connect to the hosted site(s) must be configured as required.

While there are many customers hosting their MET/TEAM and MET/CONNECT instances in the cloud, you must insure that you use supported tools for this configuration, as described above.
