How can I connect a Fluke 154 to a transmitter? 


Answer: 

The Fluke 154 can communicate to a transmitter to set-up settings and related operation parameters. 
However the transmitter needs an external power supply (24V) and the loop needs a 250 ohm resistor (also called Hart-resistor) to enable communications.

When the transmitter is inside an existing system, the needed components might already be available.
In case you own a Fluke Process Instrument already, which includes loop power and the "Hart resistor" you can use that to power the transmitter as well
