Question for automating the 5790B adjustment: Does the sequence order matter?
The adjust sequence does matter. LF Linearity has to be adjusted prior the AC Adjust. The AC Adjust sequence is driven by firmware and cannot be changed. It is different from the 5790A. A design decision was made to go from low to high voltage to avoid some divider heating effects. The bootstrap method used on the 5790A is difficult to implement with this sequence. Here at Fluke we no longer use the bootstrap method for both calibration and adjust. We use a divider method described in the following paper:
