Importing your Fluke DMS or ES-Control database into Fluke TruTest
The initial prompt to convert Fluke DMS or Beha ES-Control database (from DMS version 1.5 / ES Control version 2.5) to the full version of TruTest appears the first time you start TruTest.
If you accidentally skipped this prompt to start with a fresh, empty TruTest database or encountered problems, you have to delete the TruTest database to be able to trigger the import prompt again.
Caution - any existing data will be deleted!
You can find the TruTest database at: C:\ProgramData\TruTest\Data\store, specifically the "IMDatabase.db" file.
Note: If you cannot find the "ProgramData" folder, enable "hidden items" in Windows Explorer, and you should then see the ProgramData folder.
Now restart Fluke TruTest, and the prompt to convert your old database from DMS / ES Control will appear again.
Important notes on the import process
- The oldest version of DMS databases that can be transferred is DMS 1.5, databases from versions like 1.3 or older cannot be imported.
- The oldest version of ES-Control databases that can be transferred is 2.5, databases from versions like 2.3 or older cannot be imported.
- Customer codes/customer numbers and location codes must be correctly assigned in the DMS in order to be correctly transferred into TruTest.
- TruTest is working with local, single-user licenses; meaning the database cannot be stored on a network drive and it cannot be used as a multi-user version.
- The TruTest database cannot be moved to another location; it is always fixed and local on C:
- No measurement data will be imported when importing from an DMS or ES-Control database.
- Microsoft Access 2016 x64 (64bit) is needed to import the DMS or ES-Control database. It can be uninstalled afterwards.
- Databases that have been replicated with the "replicate" tool of Access at some point in history, can generally not be imported into Fluke TruTest.
