Procedure to confirm correct signal generation and detection on the GFL-1500
Required: DC power source greater than 30Vdc. Example: 4 9V batteries connected in series
Set knob to Positive to Ground
Test #1 - Array mode
- Connect ground and positive test leads to Power source
- Check for lighting bolt symbol on screen
- Select Array mode
- Press Trace
- Confirm signal on Positive and Ground leads; no signal on Negative lead. Test using both the clamp and the receiver.
Test #2: - Unit mode
- Connect positive and ground test lead dolphin clips together
- Change mode to Unit mode
- Press Trace
- Confirm signal on Positive and Ground leads; no signal on Negative lead
Variations:
-Set knob to Negative to Ground, confirm signal on Negative and Ground test leads in Array mode (using DC battery power source), and Unit mode
-Turn knob to Map, test for signal on Positive and Negative
