If continuity is detected with a Fluke multimeter or clamp meter, the meter will produce one of two audible beeps.
Solid steady tone/beep: Indicates continuity with no voltage present
Pulsing or chirping tone/beep: Indicates continuity with voltage present (the frequency of the pulsing or chirping tone may vary slightly per model)
No tone: No continuity
Note: Resistance measurements should not be made on a live circuit. Make sure to remove the charge from the circuit before testing continuity.
