This Article is about what to do when a camera is new and asking to Set a new PIN or if you don't know the PIN number how to proceed using the TiX580.
This product supports data protection measures to comply with cyber security requirements.
This requires you to enter a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for Product access.
Security Guidelines for a PIN:
- Do not share a PIN.
- Do not use a PIN that might be easily guessed (Example: 1111, 1234, 2468, 2580).
- Do change a PIN if you suspect a security breach.
Set a PIN
The first time you turn on the Product, the Product prompts you to set a PIN. After you set the PIN you must use the
PIN to unlock the Product for each use.
To set a PIN:
1. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a 4 digit to 6-digit PIN and tap on Next.
2. Enter the PIN and tap on Next.
3. Enter the PIN again to Confirm and tap on Next.
4. You have finished the PIN process and tap on Ok.
5. If the PINs do not match, the Product shows an error message. Select Ok to return to the Set PIN screen.
6. If the PINs do match, the Product shows a success message. Select Ok to use the Product.
Use the PIN
The Product prompts for the PIN each time you start the Product. When prompted:
1. Enter the PIN
2. Tap Done.
If the PIN is correct, the Product opens the default screen.
If the PIN is incorrect, the Product shows an error message, and you tap on Ok to try again.
For each third incorrect attempt, select Ok to wait 1 minute before the Enter PIN screen opens to try again.
Change the PIN
If you know the PIN, you can set a new PIN and not delete data. If you do not know the PIN, you
must use Factory Reset to reset the Product to the default settings. See Factory Reset.
To change a known PIN when the Product is on and unlocked:
1. Select the appropriate path for your product.
- Settings > Advanced > Change PIN.
2. Enter the known PIN.
3. Select Next.
4. If the PIN is incorrect, the Product shows an error message. Select Ok to return to the Change PIN screen.
5. If the PIN is correct, the Set PIN screen shows to allow you to set a new PIN
Factory Reset
With the product on and locked on the Enter PIN screen:
1. Select Factory Reset, by tapping the screen.
2. The Factory Reset warning screen informs you that is you agree to the Factory Reset you will delete all images.
Tap the Yes choice to proceed. Another screen warning that the Factory reset will delete images tap Yes to continue.
3. The Select Language screen is next and choose the language and tap Done.
4. The next step is to follow the Set Pin instructions listed above.
